Insulated Glass and Sealed Units

When we talk about replacing your windows we are talking about the glass in your window which may be a single pane of glass, or a double-paned "sealed unit", also known as "insulated glass". These sealed units are two panes of glass that are sealed together with an air gap between them which provides insulation. Most sealed units last around 20-30 years, depending on sun and weather exposure, and the type of seal used. If you notice that your windows are fogging up or have a haze between the panes, this means that your seal has failed and moisture is getting trapped between the panes, so it is time to have the unit replaced. My Glass Guys can come to your house and accurately measure for a replacement and give you an exact quote, then once the new unit arrives we can replace the glass without removing the surrounding window frame.

Let the Light In

Skylights are a great way to improve the inflow of natural light to your home, especially in interior spaces that are otherwise left dark or reliant artificial lighting. Skylights are also built the same way as the sealed units in your windows, but have to deal with much more sun exposure and temperature changes. If your skylight seal is failed, it is no longer doing its job of insulating that area of your home and you may notice your energy costs rising as a result. You can contact My Glass Guys to get a quote on having your existing skylight replaced, and in most cases it's the same painless process as a simple window replacement
