Insulated Glass and Sealed Units
When we talk about replacing your windows we are talking about the glass in your window which may be a single pane of glass, or a double-paned "sealed unit", also known as "insulated glass". These sealed units are two panes of glass that are sealed together with an air gap between them which provides insulation. Most sealed units last around 20-30 years, depending on sun and weather exposure, and the type of seal used. If you notice that your windows are fogging up or have a haze between the panes, this means that your seal has failed and moisture is getting trapped between the panes, so it is time to have the unit replaced.
